After her popup at Le Dali in Le Meurice, Margot Lecarpentier (Combat) opened her first bar with Alain Ducasse: Midi-Minuit. ) – Source

Spectrum

In a different style, Fitz's Bar in London launched Spectrum, a menu of 12 cocktails inspired by synesthesia (i.e., where stimulating one sense triggers another). The idea is to create a sensory experience where each cocktail has been designed so that its color (classified as “light” or “dark”) influences the perceived taste (e.g., clear = freshness, etc.) – Source

In brief

  • The new Bordeaux spot from Remy Savage and Paul Lougrat, đŸŸ§đŸŸ©đŸŸȘđŸŸšđŸŸ„đŸŸŠ (aka un_bar_avec_des_formes_pr_nom), is officially open. Located at 17 quai des SaliniĂšres, the bar is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. – Source
  • Jefrey's is offering a nine-cocktail menu inspired by cult films through the end of the month. Created by Anthony Rostoucher, it includes recipes such as the Dude Russian, a twist on the beloved White Russian from The Big Lebowski, or a certain What’s Up, Doc? with mastiha liqueur and carrot syrup, referencing the famous rabbit from Space Jam – Source

Top Cocktails, and more if you fancy

According to the Global Cocktail 2024 report by CGA by NIQ, a study of 30,000 people in 38 countries, the Mojito is the consumers’ favorite cocktail (40%), followed by the Margarita (32%) – Source

If you’d like to dig deeper, we relaunched the DistilCast at the end of October (i.e., the Jigger Daily / Jigger Daily podcast), joined by the very insightful Chris Jumentier (Trade Marketing & Advocacy Advisor @ Heads & Legs – Spirits Guardians). In the first episode of this new season, we specifically discussed different cocktail rankings and their often very different results from one source to another! For clarity, it’s available in video on YouTube and Spotify, as well as in audio on all your favorite podcast platforms (Apple / Deezer / Amazon Music, etc.).

Beyond that, if you like the format, we then covered in two more episodes: innovation in the mixers segment and mentioning brands in cocktail menus (which can sometimes cost tens of thousands of euros).

In short, feel free to take a look or a listen, and especially subscribe on your favorite platform. We have plenty of topics in the works, and starting next week, an episode dedicated to the Brand Ambassador profession! Don’t miss it!
