A few days ago, Thibaut and I got to check out what the team at Bar Les Ambassadeurs at the Hôtel de Crillon has put together for the launch of Distil Your World Paris, the latest release in The Macallan’s Distil Your World series. To mark the partnership, the bar has created a limited-time menu of signature cocktails, served daily starting at 5 p.m., through April 6.

The first cocktail, Matin aux Tuileries, is a milk punch made with The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old, croissant, breakfast tea, Oloroso sherry, and Frangelico. Crowd-pleasing in the best possible way, it’s great at winning people over to Scotch, even those who think they don’t like it. The sweet vanilla bite served alongside it keeps that easy appeal going.

The second, Lueurs Pourpres, is drier and will appeal more to fans of bold, spirit-forward cocktails. Built on a Rob Roy template, but with port, apricot, pistachio, and raspberry vinegar, it unfolds in layers. It’s more direct at first, then gradually opens up, showing a fruitier side as it warms up toward room temperature. All in all, it’s an invitation to slow down, perfectly complemented by barbecue-inspired bites (each with a touch of The Macallan).

Overall, the lineup is remarkably cohesive. Each cocktail was designed with its food pairing in mind, and the Bar Les Ambassadeurs team’s craftsmanship really comes through as it goes way beyond a typical brand activation. Well worth checking out!
