LORENZO ANTINORI & SIMONE CARPORALE TO OPEN CUBAN-INSPIRED BAR IN HONG KONG
Two industry icons present Montana: a bar that blends the golden age of Cuban mixology with the rhythm and energy of 1970s Miami, launching this summer
14 April 2025 – In a city that thrives on energy, culture, and world-class hospitality, two longtime friends and respected bartenders are coming together to celebrate what they love the most: warm hospitality, camaraderie, and the simple joy of a well-made drink. Lorenzo Antinori (Bar Leone, Hong Kong – No.2, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, and The Best Bar in Asia 2024) and Simone Caporale (Sips, Barcelona – No.3, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024; The Best Bar in Europe 2024; The World's Best Bar 2023) are uniting to unveil Montana, a bar that draws from the craft and legacy of the Club de los Cantineros, Cuba’s legendary bartenders’ guild, while channeling the electric energy of Miami in the 1970s. Set in Hong Kong, a melting pot where global influences and a discerning cosmopolitan clientele collide, Montana is set to become a vibrant homage to an era when Cuban cocktails were at their peak, and disco music set the rhythm.
Designed to celebrate the golden era of Cuban mixology, Montana will highlight the precision of classics like the Daiquiri, Mojito, and El Presidente, cocktails born from the traditions of the Club de los Cantineros, while infusing them with the same dedication and creativity that have shaped Antinori and Caporale’s careers. This collaboration is not about nostalgia or zeitgeist but about energy; about music, movement, and the kind of hospitality that lingers long after the last sip. For now, details remain deliberately elusive, but what’s certain is that Montana is built on friendship and a shared love for the craft – and that’s always worth raising a glass too.
