Tayēr + Elementary announced What If?, a concept series designed to explore and reimagine different themes through the Tayēr lens. Its first edition, Casual by Tayēr, will run for six weeks in Cato's basement bar in Covent Garden, from July 15 through August 26, 2026. The residency followed the unexpected temporary closure of the team's Shoreditch home after a fire.

Created by co-founders Monica Berg and Alex Kratena, the residency was designed to combine a classic neighborhood bar's welcoming spirit with the creativity, flavor, and personality of Tayēr + Elementary. Berg called Casual by Tayēr "our way of staying connected to the people who have supported us, even as we navigate an unexpected moment of change."

The cocktail menu will merge Tayēr's style with Elementary's technique and precision, alongside cult classics including the One Sip Martini. Head chef Steven Diaz created a menu of cross-cultural snacks, skewers, sandwiches, and hot plates shaped by Latin and Asian influences and nostalgic drinking comfort food. Dishes will include Green Plantain Crisps with Rayu, Watermelon + Shiso Gilda, Yellowtail Tiradito, Tamago Sando, and Cubano Sandwich.

Established in London in 2019, Tayēr + Elementary placed No. 12 on the inaugural Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026 list and No. 5 on The World's 50 Best Bars 2025 list.
