GN Chan of Double Chicken Please in New York named this year’s most impactful bartender by the 50 Best Bars
While we wait for the 50 Best Bars 2023 results, which will be announced on October 17 in Singapore, the organizers have already revealed the winner of the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award.
This is GN Chan, who co-founded the New York bar Double Chicken Please in 2020. The bar was recently named North America’s Best Bar and ranked sixth on the 50 Best Bars in 2022.
He joins a list that includes Iain Griffiths from Dandelyan (London) in 2017, Joe Schofield, then at Tippling Club (Singapore), in 2018, Monica Berg from Tayēr + Elementary (London) in 2019, Renato Giovannoni from Florería Atlántico (Buenos Aires) in 2020, Lynnette Marrero from Llama Inn (New York) in 2021, and finally Jean Trinh from Alquímico (Cartagena) in 2022.
