Tokyo Confidential partners with Telmont Champagne for seasonal Telmont Champagne rooftop
Award-winning cocktail bar announces its limited-edition collaboration with Telmont Champagne, the brand pioneering a new era of Champagne with a sustainable approach.
TOKYO, Japan (22 May 2025) - Award-winning cocktail bar Tokyo Confidential has teamed up with Telmont Champagne to introduce the limited edition "Telmont Champagne Rooftop" for the spring and summer season, until Sunday, July 20th. Known for its sustainable approach to Champagne, Maison Telmont has been operational for over a century and four generations, with "In the Name of Mother Nature" as the guiding principle for all of its activities.
Guests can enjoy a variety of prestige cuvées from Telmont Champagne while enjoying the breeze from Tokyo Confidential’s rooftop terrace and taking in spectacular evening views of the illuminated Tokyo Tower. The intimate rooftop space is adorned with plants, a lush rooftop garden in the heart of the city. Telmont Reserve de la Terre is available by the glass, with Blanc de Blancs Vinothèque 2006, Blanc de Blancs 2014, Blanc de Noirs 2015, Reserve Rosé and Reserve de la Terre by the bottle as well.
Champagne Telmont was founded in 1912 in Damery, near Epernay, France, by Henri L'Hopital, shortly after the Champagne riots. For over a century, the Maison has been a pioneer in the Champagne industry. By combining innovation with the tradition of excellence for which the Maison is known, Telmont is now reinventing the way we interact with the planet by creating an exceptional Champagne without compromising on sustainability. This vision has taken shape since 2021 through the "In the Name of Mother Nature" project, which involves converting the Maison’s and its partner farmers' vineyards to regenerative organic farming (currently 70% are certified organic), protecting biodiversity and significantly reducing carbon emissions to reach net zero by 2050.
So far, the company has implemented a number of initiatives, including eliminating gift boxes and unnecessary packaging, developing the world's lightest bottle (800 grams) in collaboration with a long-standing glass manufacturer, ceasing the use of transparent bottles (not using recycled glass) and custom bottles (over 900 grams), using recycled glass when changing the color of glass, completely banning air transport, and using renewable energy*.
Telmont is supported by four investors who share its vision and beliefs on environmental protection. Bertrand L'Hopital, great-grandson of founder Henri, winemaker and cellar master, began the transition to organic farming as early as 1999 and continues the legacy and traditions of his ancestors. Ludovic du Plessis is President of Maison Telmont. Rémy Cointreau, Telmont’s majority shareholder, fully supports the Maison's commitment to sustainability and innovation. And Leonardo DiCaprio is not only an investor but also a passionate environmental activist.
The wines of the Maison are characterized by a fresh and structured style, a balance of tension and freshness, a delicate yet balanced acidity, and an impressive long finish. They exude a unique presence due to the paradox of two seemingly contradictory characteristics: structured body and remarkable lightness. In 2024, Maison Telmont launched the cuvée "Réserve de la Terre", which is made only from organically grown grapes and does not use herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers, embodying the Telmont manifesto. This cuvée, full of brilliant life, is a symbol of the future of Maison Telmont.
