Louis Navarrete takes the win at the 2024 Bartender Beach Challenge
The Bartender Beach Challenge 2024 finale unfolded on July 1st in Carnac, with Louis Navarrete from Le Gloster (Paris) taking the crown. With nearly 50 applications, this second edition showcased the event's growing success—and plans for the next one are already underway!
A Two-Part Final, Between Sea and Land
The day began spectacularly in the bay of Quiberon, aboard the catamaran Les Îliens, where the ten finalists presented - at sea, no less (!) - their original creations before a jury of experts and 80 privileged guests.
This first challenge, which saw the candidates overflowing with creativity in terms of recipes, glassware, ice, and even color choices, allowed for the selection of the four best candidates for the next stage of the competition: Klervi Laurent, Louis Navarrete, Jocelyn Soubise, and Florian Bouyer.
With this first elimination completed, the afternoon meeting was set at La Potinière for a new challenge, this time in pairs.
Klervi Laurent and Louis Navarrete faced off against Florian Bouyer and Jocelyn Soubise in a significant challenge: to create a cocktail and a mocktail that paired with a dish prepared by Charles Moreau, chef of the restaurant Granit (Plouharnel).
The atmosphere was electric, fueled by the dynamic hosting of Stéphane Monnier, the speaker from Rugby Club Vannes, and once again, the cocktails were of exceptional quality.
Four Talents, One Winner
After a tight deliberation, the jury (composed of Charles Moreau, Chef of Granit, Charlotte Crenn, creator of the Nantes Cocktail Club, Axel Pencolé, founder of Unimix and winner of the first edition of B.B.C, and Chris Jumentier, Beverage Consultant / Advocacy at Heads & Legs and Spirits Guardians) finally made their decision!
Louis Navarrete (Le Gloster, Paris) was named the grand winner of this 2024 edition of the Bartender Beach Challenge, his creativity and technical mastery making the difference throughout the day.
The podium was thus completed in order by:
- Jocelyn Soubise (Le Bar du Crystal, Nancy)
- Florian Bouyer (La Potinière, Carnac)
- Klervi Laurent (Ti Beudeff, Groix)
A big congratulations to them as well!
Not to forget all the other finalists: Johan Schots (Le Musikam), Maurine Vayret (Bar Louise), Baptiste Alix (The WestPort Inn), Ben Raza (Bloom Pop Brewpub), Kévin Carlier (Les Elixirs), and Théo Villars (Diamonds Bar).
