The Bar Convent Brooklyn has become an essential meeting point for professionals in the spirits and cocktails industry. The 2024 edition took place under sweltering heat on June 11 and 12 at the former docks of Industry City in Brooklyn, along the waterfront of Upper New York Bay. Once again, this reference trade show (which has also expanded to São Paulo, Singapore, and soon London) brought together brands from around the world, offering an unparalleled spotlight on the latest trends and innovations in the sector.

With the highest attendance in its history, the event welcomed over 5,300 industry professionals, marking an 18% increase compared to the previous year. It also provided an unparalleled opportunity for networking and exploring innovations in the sector. Visitors were able to (re)discover 230 exhibiting brands, representing 47 states and 48 countries worldwide, with a total of over 550,000 drinks and spirits served over the two days!

Far from French standards and the limitations of our Evin law, this BCB, which takes place both indoors and outdoors, already astonishes with its abundance of goodies and gifts of all kinds. Caps, sunglasses, t-shirts, pins, bags, bar equipment, samples... everything is good to attract attendees and overload their suitcase on the way back (trust me, I’ve experienced it).

Tales of the Cocktail 2016: Day 5 #TOTC2016
Time flies! Here we are at our fifth and final day at Tales of the Cocktails 2016. After 4 well-managed days [/tales-of-the-cocktail-2016-day-4-totc2016/], this Saturday, July 23, is marked by a slight slowdown, I admit, but we didn’t shy away from our pleasure for

While the range of brands is quite broad, we are in the USA. Naturally, bourbon and tequila are much more represented than in France. Among those that generated a lot of interest, let's highlight the vodka White Claw ; the whiskey Brother's Bond backed by the duo of actors from the series "Vampire Diaries" Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder ; the Australian distillery Four Pillars and its unique gins; the Canadian liqueur Thunder Bitch with chili and cinnamon;  Empirical and its astonishing spirit made with Doritos (!) or even the whiskey Jameson whose stand set up in a gigantic barrel was worth the trip.

French brands also shone during this edition of the BCB, bringing a touch of elegance and sophistication to the event. In addition to a strong presence of Calvados around a stand featuring various Norman brands (Coquerel, Père MagloireBusnelDupont...), brands from the La Martiniquaise group were also well represented, such as Saint James. Meanwhile, SuzeGrand MarnierDolin, the armagnacs Ortolan and Grand Comte, flavored gins Bartavelle and the liqueur Fleur Charmante (targeted at the US market) completed this "so Frenchy" picture.

Alongside all these tastings without a spittoon (a utensil that Americans seem not to know), various conferences and round tables provided sharp insights into various aspects of the bar world that are becoming recurrent (if not expected) in such events: eco-responsibility, hospitality, inclusivity, non-alcoholic options, etc.

Looking ahead, the team behind Bar Convent Brooklyn is already planning the 2025 edition, scheduled for June 10 and 11. With promises of new programming, additional exhibitors, and expanded opportunities for industry professionals, next year's event is expected to raise the bar even higher.
