Award-Winning Edmond's Honor Bourbon, a First-of-Its-Kind Ultra-Premium Spirit from Pronghorn, Ushers in a New Chapter for the Bourbon Industry

Aged in Madagascar vanilla extract-soaked cognac casks, Edmond's Honor celebrates the untold story of Edmond Albius and uplifts the next generation of unsung pioneers in art, culinary arts and mixology by rooting its business in purpose.

ATLANTA, Feb. 18, 2025 – As Black History Month amplifies the stories of Black visionaries whose contributions have shaped culture, Edmond's Honor, a first-of-its kind ultra-premium bourbon whiskey enters the market with a bold mission: to honor legacy, elevate craftsmanship, and raise a toast to the next generation of everyday heroes.

Edmond's Honor was founded by Pronghorn, a standalone business focused on creating a template for diversifying industries, starting with the spirits industry. Pronghorn serves as a hybrid accelerator and industry-wide trailblazer, providing new opportunities for underrepresented founders, entrepreneurs, and executives.

Edmond's Honor, the company's first product innovation, is crafted by liquid curator Tracie Franklin as a tribute to Edmond Albius, the overlooked Malagasy botanist prodigy who revolutionized vanilla cultivation by hand pollinating orchids.

Born on the island of Bourbon (now Réunion) off the coast of Madagascar, his breakthrough transformed vanilla into one of the world's most coveted flavors, a legacy and technique that endures today.

"Edmond Albius isn't a household name, but he should be. His discovery shaped an entire industry, yet his story remains largely untold," said Pronghorn President Ron Cole.  "With Edmond's Honor, we're reclaiming his legacy and uplifting a new generation of visionaries through every pour."

Redefining the Ultra-Premium Bourbon Category

Rooted in purpose and reclamation of legacy, Edmond's Honor sets a new standard in the ultra-premium bourbon category.  As an arbiter of premium taste, distinction and sophistication, Edmond's Honor is responsibly sourced, aged in Madagascar vanilla extract-soaked cognac casks and crafted with an unwavering commitment to quality and the artistry of bourbon making.

"When we set out to create Edmond's Honor, we wanted to represent Edmond Albius' legacy through distinctive taste and embrace the essence of real Madagascar vanilla, an ingredient that he made possible," said Tracie Franklin, Edmond Honor's Liquid Curator. "Every sip is a testament to Edmond's discovery and the artistry shaping the future of bourbon."

Edmond's Honor has already earned acclaim as a recipient of a Platinum Las Vegas Global Spirit Award, further cementing its place as a standout in the ultra-premium bourbon category.

The Taste of Edmond's Honor

Edmond's Honor delivers a multi-sensory experience from appearance to finish. Its gleaming golden hue is complemented by aromas of honeysuckle, brown sugar, toasted baking spices, and cocoa.  On the palate sandalwood and coconut unfold, followed by warm nutmeg, allspice, and citrus zest.  Layers of brown butter, toasted oak, and chocolate add depth, leading to a smooth finish with lingering notes of orange blossom, cinnamon, and Madagascar vanilla.

Supporting the Next Generation of Visionaries

Edmond's Honor does more than celebrate the legacy and global generational impact of Edmond Albius's discovery.  It honors truth - a truth that recognizes that there are incredible contributors to global society across the cultural landscape whose stories are often overlooked.  Beyond the glass, Edmond's Honor is dedicated to building a rich ecosystem that fosters and celebrates creativity while making a meaningful impact in the community.  The brand is exemplifying its commitment to social responsibility by investing a portion of its proceeds into charitable groups that support initiatives championing the new generation of underrepresented pioneers in art, culinary arts and mixology.
