Bonhams and Buffalo Trace unveil Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old at auction
Bonhams will host an exclusive online auction from April 24 to May 8, 2026, launching Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old, the oldest age-stated bourbon ever released by Buffalo Trace Distillery, across 15 curated lots.
Bonhams has partnered with Buffalo Trace Distillery to launch Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old, the oldest age-stated bourbon to date from the Kentucky distiller. The curated online auction will run from April 24 to May 8, 2026 on bonhams.com, featuring the first and second bottles ever produced of Eagle Rare 30 alongside individual lots and collections drawn from across the Eagle Rare portfolio.
Distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery since 1989, Eagle Rare now spans from the classic 10-Year-Old to the rare 25 and the newly introduced 30-Year-Old, offering age statements more commonly associated with Scotch whisky than bourbon. Both Eagle Rare 25 and Eagle Rare 30 were drawn from Warehouse P, one of the distillery's two experimental warehouses designed to slow and control maturation in Kentucky's demanding climate.
"Eagle Rare 25 and 30 aren't just about time, they're about what time reveals," said Harlen Wheatley, Master Distiller.
The sale comprises 15 lots in total. Lot #1 features the first bottle ever produced of Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old, paired with a private single barrel tasting experience at either Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY, or Buffalo Trace Distillery London in Covent Garden, estimated at £7,500–£10,000 ($10,000–$13,000). Lot #2 includes one bottle from the entire Eagle Rare collection plus the second bottle produced of Eagle Rare 30-Year-Old and a one-night stay at Stagg Lodge, estimated at £20,000–£30,000 ($27,000–$40,000).
"The global teams of Bonhams are honoured to partner with such an iconic name as Buffalo Trace on this exclusive auction launching Eagle Rare 30," said Amayès Aouli, Global Head of Bonhams Wine & Spirits.
