**Moutai** has kicked off a major activation that runs until the end of October at **Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann**. China’s national spirit, still relatively unknown in France despite its iconic status in Asia, is hosting an unprecedented immersive experience in a pop-up space inside the store’s **La Cave**.

It’s a rare chance to discover this exceptional baijiu under the best possible conditions.

## A baijiu crafted from more than 200 base spirits

Born in the **Chishui** River valley in the province of **Guizhou** in southwest China, **Moutai** is crafted from just three ingredients: sorghum, wheat, and water from the **Chishui** River. Its terroir enjoys protected geographical indication status, underscoring the uniqueness of its production conditions.

Bottled at 53 % ABV, this baijiu owes its character to a rare blend of more than 200 base spirits. The result is a complex aroma - think umami soy-sauce notes - paired with a rich, silky mouthfeel and a long finish laced with toasted grain and spice.

In short, it tastes worlds apart from anything most of us are used to.
